Web Communications Manager - Heart Rhythm Society

The Heart Rhythm Society's goal is to end the pain and suffering of individuals suffering from heart rhythm disorders.  Their membership of 5,300 doctors, allied health professionals, and scientists are committed to this mission. They are seeking a web communications expert to join their team and play an important role in helping to reach this crucial goal. They are seeking an experienced, innovative, creative, and technically strong web communications manager to help lead, implement and maintain a vibrant and interactive communications strategy using the web, social media, and other cutting edge communication tools.  Core responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Serve as the project lead and provide strategic and tactical oversight for the architecture of the association's websites.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to leadership by providing innovative ways to keep the association in the forefront using the web and other e-communication technologies.
  • Consult with internal staff throughout HRS on best practices for promoting the use of the Web as the primary communication channel.  Train staff on the use of the web content system.
  • Administer the Society's content management system and provide guidance and recommendations for improving the efficiency of the system.
  • Train staff on the use of the web content system

 

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience working with web communications, be an expert with content management systems, possess strong project management skills, and can demonstrate innovative and strategic thinking in the development of a web communications strategy.  The candidate will also have experience working with social media, outstanding writing and content management experience, and the ability to work well with others.  Technically, the candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of experience with CMS, HTML, PHP, XML.  Familiarity with Cold Fusion, JavaScript, RSS, Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat are preferred.  Experience working within an association environment is also preferred.
