Good morning, YAPstars,

Your Brain Squad (Maddie Grant, Lindy Dreyer, Lauren Wolfe, Tom Morrison, Jamie Notter, Lynn Morton and I) wanted to let you know that we are aware that we’ve been located by the spammers.

We want to balance the openness and inclusiveness we’ve all come to love about YAP with trying to protect us all, at least somewhat, from bogus messages. So here’s the solution we’ve come up with:

Membership is still free and open to all, but only admins (the people above) can send email blasts and calendar invites.

Yes, that means you still could get a wacky private message, so, as always, we urge you to practice safe computing. And you can still report accounts to us for unsavory behavior.
